Loyola College welcomes international students to apply for admission. Several offices on campus have special responsibility to work with international students:
In addition to providing all informational and counseling services available to all Loyola applicants, Admission assists international applicants with the special application procedures that are needed for submission of international transcripts and other credentials, for translation services and for student visa documentation requirements. Upon initial inquiry to the Admission Office, international students should request the application packet designed for their use. Information on these procedures will be included.
The Undergraduate Admission Office collects documentation from applicants for the student visa and forwards this material to Loyola's Office of International Student Services. The Office of International Student Services is responsible for reviewing the application for a student visa and for issuing the documents needed for the student visa. International Student Services also works with returning students to collect information that is required on an annual basis. For specific visa or immigration related questions, please call the Office of International Student Services at 410-617-2910.
The Center will register both international first-year and transfer students after acceptance through the Admission Office, submission of the required enrollment payment and approval for a student visa. For transfers, the Center will conduct a review of college courses previously taken to determine whether credit in Loyola’s curriculum can be awarded.
The Academic Advising and Support Center also provides on-going advising and tutoring programs and resources. Loyola does not offer a formal English as a Second Language program, and so the current level of English proficiency is an important part of the admission evaluation. International students should make themselves aware of the many forms of academic assistance available at Loyola and are encouraged to make use of these resources whenever needed in meeting the challenge of college study.
