Transfer Admission

Loyola College welcomes applications from students considering transfer. Here is some information about offices that work with transfer students:

Undergraduate Admission Office

The Admission Office offers specialized transfer interviews for applicants and prospective applicants. The Transfer Counselor will discuss the College’s transfer credit acceptance guidelines although that process is formally conducted by the Academic Advising and Support Center after the admission process is completed. Additionally, transfer students are welcome to attend our open house programs. The College Days include faculty sessions on all our majors, along with many other features, and should be of special interest to transfers. The Saturday Information Programs offer a good introduction to Loyola with a presentation by an Admission Counselor (not necessarily a transfer counselor) and a student-led campus tour.

Please note: January 1-February 15, we offer program only; February 15-May 1, interviews are for seniors and transfer students only.

Academic Advising and Support Center

Transfer students schedule an appointment in the Center after acceptance through the Admission Office and payment of the enrollment deposit. The courses taken in students’ previous college work are reviewed for the possible granting of credit in Loyola’s curriculum. The Academic Advising and Support Center then facilitates registration for the first term at Loyola and assigns an advisor.

Office of Student Life

Student Life is responsible for campus housing at Loyola. Housing is not guaranteed for transfer students, but applicants may contact Student Life to check about availability or obtain listings for off-campus rooms and apartments. After acceptance through the Admission Office and payment of the enrollment deposit, students may contact Student Life to place their names on the College’s waiting list for housing.

Office of Leadership and New Student Programs

This office will contact newly enrolled transfer students about orientation activities designed to introduce them into the Loyola community.
