Meal Plan
Loyola Dining Service is run strictly as a retail facility. Unlike traditional board dining, all dining at Loyola is a la carte. We do not require any of our students to purchase a meal plan. Students can purchase a restricted meal plan for a minimum of $1000. The average student spends about $2400 per year on meals. Any money left over at the end of the year is applied to the tuition account. You pay for each item that you eat, comparable to a debit account. You can purchase food five times a day or not at all for three months and the money is still yours, month to month, semester to semester. By purchasing a restricted meal account, the money can only be spent on food items, and all purchases are tax-free!
The Evergreen Account, Loyola's general purpose pre-paid payment card, can be used to purchase food as well, although a 5% sales tax is added. There is no minimum balance on the Evergreen account. This account can also be used to purchase food from Domino’s, Chipotle, The Evergreen Café, S'ghetti Eddie's and the vending machines. Funds from the Evergreen Account are accepted for photocopying, laundry, and the bookstore. Remaining dollars carry from semester to semester until graduation.
If students choose not to use a meal plan or the Evergreen Account, cash and credit are also accepted.
